Hi guides!

Today was the CCA orientation for the year1s. There was a room for display of trophies and posters, another with Kim's Games and knots tying, the year1s could roast marshmallows and experienced outdoor cooking at the kitchen tent too. Year 2s were to bring the year1s around and introduce them to guides, hope you all made some new friends with the juniors today! Year4s were stationed at different stations to engage the year1s in the activities we had. Hope the year1s had fun and enjoyed their time here!
Good job to the firemen's ladder people and the bamboo dancers for the performance!
They spent much time practising to perfect their performances.
Thank you guiders and seniors for the guidance and advice. (:

To the juniors,
Remember to ask for time extension next time and hang your guides uniform at your xiaoduixiang and not leave it lying around anywhere. Keep tuanbu neat at all times too.

Let's look forward to new juniors joining dhscoy. :D

Hello Guides,
I am from gadgets and these past jihes we have been practising our knots and lashes, as well as competing with time. For the Year 3s, we have to take charge of our own gadget group, distributing manpower and giving instructions, while the Year 2s have a chance hone their skills. We got better with each practice and everyone is very coopearative in making this year's orientation a success!

Jiayou, everyone!

Hi guides :D

Last tuesday we jihe in the new school for orientation preparation. After the briefing by the ICs, we were then separated into our own orientation group.

For fireman's ladder, we had to choose suitable mu to tie the structure so that it would suit us and make it easier for us to climb over instead of having long mu which might cause us to knock onto it and fall. The knots have to be tight or it will get loose easily and we will have to waste time trying to retie the knots. One of the difficulties that we faced was to ding the structure as not dinging the structure properly or exerting to much force would cause the structure to be unstable and our speed would be affected by it too. After lunch, the scouts joined in and we started practicing. We had to complete the whole performance within 35 seconds but we did not manage to reach that target thus only by practicing more and more, then we will be able to make it.

For those who are in the building of the gateway or kitchen shelter or tent, it must had been a fun experience learning new knots and a recap for them after such a long time of not tying knots.

Jia you for the next orientating prep and HAPPY NEW YEAR :D

love guides :)
