Annual Training Camp, 1-3 November 2017

Hi Guides!

The theme for this year’s Annual Training Camp (ATC) was THEMELIUS: Not just them, not just me, but all of us. Themelius is Greek for elements. The elements represents the origin of mankind and it reminds us to stay true to our roots. Despite a change in patrols for ATC, we want each and every Guide to remember that they are still one 团. The four elements: fire, water, wind and earth are very different from each other, but they still come together to form one entity; the planet Earth, just like how every Guide has different abilities but each will complement each and together, form a 团. The separate elements also can combine to form different products, showing that when they choose to combine their strengths, a better result would be produced than if they choose to combine their weaknesses. The tagline emphasises how everyone plays an equal part in contributing to the patrol’s success, and that the responsibility does not lie solely on the shoulders of the Patrol Leader (PL) and Patrol Second (PS).

The camp spanned 3 days, from the 1st to the 3rd of November, and it took place at Camp Christine. The Year 3 counsellors had planned many activities for the trainees with the objective of training both their hard and soft skills. Such activities included Camp Development (Camp D), Inspection, Outdoor Cooking (OC), Obstacle Journey (OJ) etc. In addition, we hoped that the camp would help to foster a sense of camaraderie in the whole 团, and encourage the trainees to step out of their comfort zone and push themselves to their limits.

0.1 Camp Preparations

Before the camp however, the trainees were given a briefing and had a few weeks before the camp to carry out their respective preparations, including their proposals. They had to submit drawings for their patrol logistics which included their patrol flag, identity, banner and meal bag, and then construct them. They also had to send in proposals for Camp Development, Outdoor Cooking and Campfire, so as to facilitate their planning and also to ensure that they would be clear of what to do during the actual activity itself.


Reflection from a Year 1:
I feel that Camp Preparation served as a platform for me to get to know my patrol mates better. As the ATC patrols differed from the usual ones, I barely knew my patrol mates. However, working together with them during Camp Preparation made me feel more at ease with my batch mates. Not only with us Year 1s, but with my seniors as well. The whole process was fun, knowing that there wasn't any tension or awkwardness. Camp Preparation not only trained the hard skills for camp, but it also bonded us as a patrol, which allowed us to work better with one another. Teamwork is very important, and with it, my patrol overcame Camp Preparation and ATC itself, together.

Reflection from a Year 2:
Camp Preparation increased our awareness on what we were going to do during ATC and this made us more prepared for ATC. Camp Preparation was very rushed for the Year 2s as we only had 2 weeks to complete and submit the proposals. Even though we had a few conflicts among one another, we managed to finish the proposals and submit most of them on time. Other Year 2s also took the initiative to buy the styrofoam boxes and work on the inspection proposals. Camp Preparation also bonded us and increased our teamwork as we had to work together to make sure everything was standardised and that everyone had sufficient logistics for the structures.

0.2 Pre-Camp Inspection

Pre-Camp Inspection was held on the 27th of October, to ensure that the trainees had all the logistics needed for ATC. Additionally, it also served to improve inter batch communication and patrol morale, and strengthen the trainees’ sense of urgency and preparedness. There were also Physical Training (PT) segments that they had to carry out as forfeits to train their stamina, if they were lacking in any particular component. They were given 15 minutes to mass change into their Guides uniform and retrieve all their logistics from 团部.  

Afterwards, each patrol proceeded to six classrooms respectively and they were given 10 minutes to lay out their logistics based on the layout they had drawn and standardised across the company. Counsellors then went around grading on various components such as patrol morale, standardisation & adaptability,  rationale of patrol logistics and patrol name, attire, preparedness, and completeness. Respective PT items were then to be done by the patrol depending on their performance.













Reflection from a Year 1:
For the Pre-Camp Inspection, my patrol faced some troubles with the orientation of the layout as we had unknowingly placed the items at the wrong place, such as the items which were supposed to be positioned nearer to the front door were accidentally placed near the back door. Additionally, we were not very familiar with the layout we were supposed to memorise as we had a few disagreements on where some of the items should be placed. Some of the items were also not properly labelled and we did not have some items we were supposed to have. From this inspection, I learnt that we should be meticulous in whatever we do, as our carelessness in this inspection had led to the mistakes we made.

Reflection from a Year 2:
We had our Pre-Camp Inspection around one week before the camp. I think that Pre-Camp Inspection was pretty useful in aiding us before the camp as it prepared us for the actual camp itself by ensuring that we had sufficient and the correct logistics. Other than that, it also served as something that checked our preparedness for the camp, as it tested our skills of communication and working together. I think the main takeaway from the Pre-Camp Inspection would definitely be to work on improving our communication as we had to go to the different classrooms and collaborate with each patrol, ensuring that we had a standardized and correct layout. We had to work fast and help one another in order to complete the inspection successfully.

The patrols were then given 5 minutes to pack up and 集合 back. After 解散, the trainees headed to 团部 to arrange their logistics properly.

1.0 Day One

On the 1st of November, the trainees and counsellors 集合-ed at the school’s foyers with their personal logistics and patrol logistics from 团部, and dressed in the Guides uniform. After the administrative matters were settled, the trainees proceeded to load the logistics onto the lorry. After which, the trainees and counsellors boarded the buses and embarked on an hour long journey to Camp Christine. Upon our arrival, the logistics were immediately unloaded, and we then started our first activity.


Here is the overall storyline for ATC:
Once upon a time, there were 4 elements fire, water, wind and earth. The world was divided into four factions, each faction belonging to one element. The factions were ruled by their respective emperors, but everyone fell under the command of King Ellemanto. Everyone was happy until one day, King Ellemanto died of a sudden mysterious death. Only one clue was left behind, the mark of the Aether. They were rumoured to be a secret organisation consisting of different elites from different factions. Everyone lived in fear of the Aether. There were more mysterious murders, each attack revealing a new clue about the motives of the Aether. You as the respective factions must solve the mystery and find out once and for all who the traitors are and what the Aether is out to get. However, you met into many obstacles that challenged you from achieving your dream. How would you overcome these obstacles to unite everyone together again?

1.1 Inspection

The first activity was the inspection of personal logistics. The trainees were given 2 minutes to retrieve their personal logistics. After which, they were given only 6 minutes to lay out their belongings, according to the proposal they submitted prior to the start of ATC. After the logistics were laid out, the trainees had to 集合 to their patrol counsellors, before being graded on attire, patrol morale, completeness, neatness and standardisation. Next, they were given 2 minutes to pack up their personal logistics, before being given a new layout, with 2 trainees - assigned by the Inspection ICs - leading all the trainees. They would then have to pack everything up. Similarly, another layout was given to them again, with another 2 trainees leading everyone. A maximum time extension of 2 minutes will be granted to the trainees for all layouts. After inspection, the trainees were given 6 minutes to mass change into their PE attire and return all their personal logistics.











1.2 Camp Development Part 1 & Part 2

For Camp D, here is the list of items that the trainees were required to build:

- Camp Christine Tent
- Flagpole
- Gadget to hold banner
- Shoe rack
- Emergency shelter
- Kitchen Shelter (to be shared among 2 patrols)
- Fire altar and dustbin
- Creative gadget
- Meaningful improvement to campsite
The trainees had to build everything listed above, except for the Creative Gadget, during Camp Development Parts 1 and 2. Additionally, the counsellors had to build another 2 Camp Christine tents and the company flagpole.


















Reflection from a Year 2:
Camp Development Parts 1 and 2 was rather hectic as we had to build many structures within the time given. Additionally, it was a relatively fresh yet frightening experience as it was our first time leading the juniors in ATC. Furthermore, it took us some time to adapt to the campsite as we had to work in an environment that we were not really used to. Firstly, we had to build a Camp Christine Tent and many of us were unsure of what to do. As a result, this led to confusion and it also slowed us down during the process of building the tent as most of the time we were only relying on one person for instructions. Although we encountered some problems along the way, our tent still turned out pretty well. However, we should have been more prepared for camp and all of us should have referred to the notes on how to build the Camp Christine Tent if we were uncertain, prior to the start of camp. For Camp Development Parts 1 and 2, we also faced many other problems when we were building our Kitchen Shelter (KS). The 麻绳 for our kitchen shelter kept breaking and the pacing was also wrong. As a result, our canvas sheet was not taut and there was a possibility that it might fall anytime since we did not have enough time to redo it. Throughout the whole Camp Development Parts 1 and 2, we also kept on 过时-ing and had to ask for time extension multiple times. Hence, I feel that we should have improved our efficiency by working faster and taking Camp D more seriously. Apart from that, I was extremely grateful when people from other patrols came to help us out when they were done with their own things. :*)

1.3 Physical Training

After Camp Development, the trainees had Physical Training (PT), which aimed to provide opportunities for the trainees to train their physical standards, to stretch and push themselves to their best of their abilities, and to provide opportunities for them to step out of their comfort zones and try their best. 3 stations were set up at various locations, and patrols were paired up before going to the stations in rotational order. A Mass PT station awaited the trainees after they had completed all the stations. Firstly, the trainees were required to do warm ups which consisted of neck rotation, shoulder stretch, tricep stretch, standing toe touch, quadricep stretch, adductor stretch, hamstrings stretch, and ankle rotations.

Here is the overall storyline for PT:
Earth. Fire. Wind. Water. The four elements that make up our universe. Each element relies on each other for us to exist in the world we know of today. Since the beginning of time, it is thought that they have a mind of their own, moving around from unknown forces. Task: In order to search for our roots, attune yourselves to the different elements by training your body and pushing yourself to your limits so that should something happen, you will be prepared. Journey through different challenges where you will not only become fitter, but will also learn aspects like resilience and teamwork, all of which will be crucial in your journey towards success.

Station One:

This station consists of a Mini Competition and a Chicken Fight between the 2 patrols. For the Mini Competition, the patrols will have to arrange themselves according to height, link arms and go under the limbo stick together first. They can proceed only after all members have went under. Next, they will have to skip on the ropes together 7 times, and all members - excluding those turning the ropes - have to jump. After the completion of skipping the rope, the patrol is to complete 7 high to low plankings. The two patrols will compete to finish all 3 segments. All patrols will have to finish the segments even if the other patrol is already done.

The Chicken Fight Competition between the two patrols will have as many rounds as possible until the time limit of 4 minutes is up. Each round will alternate between 1 minute water break and 1 round of game. Participants are to tuck one leg up so that the foot is in front of the thigh of the other leg, supporting the bent leg with one or two hands. The aim is to make the other team members’ both feet touch the ground or out of the boundary, demarcated by the masking tape. Each round will last until there is a clear winning patrol, or until 2 minutes is up. The patrol with the most number of remaining members will win.










Station Two:

Part 1 of this station consists of 2 sets of a 7 minute workout. The workout comprises of 30 seconds of the following exercises with an 8 seconds break between them: Jumping Jacks, Wall Sit, Abdominal Crunch, Triceps Dip, Planking, Running on the spot, Push ups and Rotation, and Side Planks.

Part 2 of the station consists of a relay. While accomplishing the tasks in the form of a relay, the patrols would have to pass around 2 cups of table tennis balls. No table tennis balls should be dropped in the process. Firstly, both patrols will do lunges for one round around the hall. Subsequently, each patrol will form a line and complete 15 leg raises and squats, while passing a cup of water around simultaneously as a baton in a relay. Lastly, each patrol will form two lines at both ends of the hall. The first person would turn in circles 5 times, pick up the 2 cups in one hand, run to the other end and return the cups at the feet of the second person. This is to be continued until all patrol members have done this once. The patrols would have to complete this relay activity at least twice, in the time limit of 12 minutes.









Station Three:

Part 1 of this station consists of a game. Patrols would compete against each other in a game of Tic-tac-toe and whoever gets a straight/diagonal row of 麻绳 first wins. If the 麻绳 lands out of the box or on another patrol’s territory, it would not be counted. The whole game would last for 10 minutes and it would restart whenever a patrol wins. Whenever one patrol member steps up to play the game, she would have to randomly pick one physical exercise from the Station Master. The physical activities included are 40 Jumping Jacks, 40 Buddha Claps, 1 round of Crab Walk, 15 high to low plankings, and 1 minute planking. Trainees will have to complete the exercise before joining the game.

Part 2 of this station consists of a 7 minute Barang PT. Each patrol is to carry 2 黄木 with their 配备. 1 circuit includes lifting the 黄木 from left shoulder, to above their head, to their right shoulder and back, as well as 5 burpees. They have to coordinate and make sure that both patrols are doing it at the same time. The patrols would have to set a target they want to achieve and complete as many rounds as possible in 4 minutes. For the rest of the 3 minutes, the patrol has to do 10 crunches and 1 round of Crab Walk, while carrying the 2 黄木 and 配备.






Mass Station:

Firstly, the trainees participated in a mini patrol relay among themselves for 30 minutes. Each patrol will form a line at the back of Olave Hall and complete a set of tasks in the given order.

Tasks:
  1. 2 patrol mates to use 2 麻绳s to transport a bucket filled with whole patrol’s water bottles to and fro the length of the hall
  2. Complete PT Set 1 as a patrol
  3. 2 patrol mates to lunge to the end point (if they do not do it together, they would have to restart)
  4. Complete PT Set 2 as a patrol
  5. 2 patrol mates to crab walk to the end point (if they do not do it together, they would have to restart)
  6. Complete PT Set 3 as a patrol
  7. 1 patrol mate to hop on one leg (without changing legs) to the end point
  8. Complete PT Set 4 as a patrol
  9. 3 patrol mates to tie their legs together and make it to the end point
  10. Complete PT Set 5 as a patrol
  11. If there is time, repeat the process

Set 1:
  1. 15 up down planking
  2. 10 flutter kicks
  3. 10 lunges
  4. 30 Buddha claps

Set 2:
  1. 站马 for two minutes
  2. 15 crunches
  3. 10 up down planking
  4. 20 high knees
  5. 30 arm rotations

Set 3:
  1. 15 flutter kicks
  2. 15 wall dips
  3. 15 up to down plankings
  4. Shuttle run to and fro 4 times

Set 4:
  1. 30 jumping jacks
  2. High knee on the spot for 3 minutes
  3. Shuttle run to and fro 4 times
  4. 2 minute planking
  5. 20 sit ups

Set 5 :
  1. 30 jumping jacks
  2. 15 arm rotations
  3. 30 lunges around the hall
  4. 10 flutter kicks

Next, the trainees participated in 3 rounds of Captain’s Ball, with each round lasting 10 minutes. 2 patrols will play against each other, and each patrol is to take ⅓ of Olave Hall. Patrol members are to select a goalkeeper for each team, who will have to stand on a chair. Trainees would have to try to pass the ball to their respective goalkeeper to score a point. No rough play, and no direct passing of the ball to the goalkeeper. Minimum of 3 passes before a goal can be scored. After 10 minutes, patrols will play with another patrol.

Lastly, the trainees engaged in a fun mass workout. They had to follow the exercise moves according to the workout videos:

Reflection from a Year 1:
For PT, the first three stations were not very strenuous. I felt it was quite relaxing as compared to normal 集合s. We cheered a lot and had a great time. However, I was quite taken aback by the mass station as the PT we had to complete were much different from the first three stations and even normal 集合s. Additionally, I felt that the whole hall was quite chaotic, as all the patrols were cramped together, trying to find space to complete their PT at different paces. Although it was rather loud and disorderly, it was exciting as doing PT together with a large number of people made me want to push myself harder. Overall, even though PT was tiring, it was also rather enjoyable.

Reflection from a Year 2:
During the Physical Training, although each patrol successfully completed the tasks they were given at the stations, I feel that it could have been done better as some of us had poorer stamina than the rest and thus found it harder to keep up each task at the same pace as their patrol mates. It could have been remedied by having those with poorer stamina to take the lead and set the pace for each task so each member can complete it together without falling behind. In addition, I think that it is also important to practise integrity, especially during the mass station when the ICs were unable to keep an eye on every patrol. Otherwise, I feel that each patrol has successfully worked together to reach new heights by encouraging each other to go further and maintaining patrol morale through cheers.

Afterwards, the trainees proceeded to wash up and have dinner. The Guiders had prepared a delicious home cooked stew for us and we all enjoyed it! Meanwhile, the counsellors went to 起 the company flagpole for flag raising the next day.

1.4 Night Games

After which, Night Games commenced. Night Games are a series of games planned by the counsellors and differs from what we do during normal 集合s. Night Games aimed to instil bravery in the trainees, allow them to think out of the box to resolve situations in the form of riddles and other challenges, improve their communication and cooperation amongst patrols, and trust in oneself and fellow patrol & batch members. The trainees 集合-ed in Olave Hall and they were told to close their eyes and look down. After that, a scene was acted out by 3 counsellors. The trainees were then told to leave quickly. Overall, there would be 6 stations and a mass station at the end.

Here is the overall storyline for Night Games:
After the elements in the world dispersed, ruptured, worn at the seams, dying, disappearing...the world, unbalanced, has unleashed in anger... Something horrible. Something terrible. Something new yet old... They are coming! They are coming because they are rising. The Aether. The world is plunged into darkness and despair, and its citizens beg to be saved. The trainees stumble upon a child, trapped in the clutches of a dark figure, who demands 6 pieces together, that will form the antidote. Or else, the world will suffer an agony they have never known, courtesy of The Aether. Will the trainees be able to overcome all challenges and restore peace in the world?

Station One: Fire

Act 1.1

Detective 1:
 Something has been unleashed, a force too huge and too dark for us to understand. After all, we’re just detectives - humans, who die ever so easily.

Detective 2:

Station Two: Water

Act 2.1

River Spirit:
Ah, look who has arrived. Innocent human beings. Welcome.
I am the River Spirit, the guardian of this river, the one with the power to
control every drop of water in this whole body of water.
Oh how lonely I’ve been, here for so long, with filthy humans dumping
trash after trash into this place I call home.
/shouts/
Look at me! Nothing but a black whirl of mess and depression.
Since you have ventured upon my home, I’m sorry to say that I will not be letting you go so easily.
Unless, well, if you could help me regain my former self.
Now, let’s play a game, shall we, little ones…

Riddle
The patrol will be tasked to search for a riddle, cut into four pieces. The riddle will be in the form of a prophecy, and the patrol will have to solve it in order to obtain their next clue.
I can bring tears to your eyes
And resurrect the dead.
I form in an instant
But last a lifetime.

Now, find the clue needed to free me from the depths of my misery.

Finding the Keys
The trainees will be tasked to search for 10 slips of paper, each of which will be labelled, with either 1 or 2, to display the the alphabets that each word is made up of. Trainees will then need to decipher the alphabets via Guides code and unscramble them to find out the key. The number labels on each slip of paper will show which word the alphabets encompass.

1st word: Clean

2nd word: Water

A Test of Prioritisation
While the trainees are searching for the key, the River Spirit will read out Act 2.5. She will then pass a trainee a plastic cup filled with red and green beans, and another similar, but empty cup, while asking them to separate them into their respective colours. The rationale behind this is to test the trainees’ prioritisation, and whether or not they deem the task at hand, or this particular distraction, as more important. It is not necessary to sort out the beans at all as this is only a form of distraction for the trainees.

Station Three: Earth

There was once a girl named Carmen Cloche. We were friends, just like the little boy and the giving tree. Then she grew up, and learnt to play with fire, that oh-so-popular element, forgot my existence. Of course, I’m not as forgiving as the giving tree. It’s different. Finding the location of the bucket
A poem, cut into two pieces, will be given as clues to the trainees.

The patrol will be passed the first part of a poem, a pair of dice, and a watch and is required to find out the location of the bucket. A certain number of dots will be coloured on the dice, and it will represent the number of steps they need to take. The watch will be set at a specific time and they have to deduce from it which direction to walk. Eg. 3 o’clock: walk to your right.

Solving the First Password
The trainees will find a box locked with 2 padlocks and a bucket filled with water with red colouring, cotton wool, glue and talcum powder to give a slimy feel. They are required to find slips of paper in the bucket which contains the hints of the padlock password. Once they attain the password, they will unlock the box.

Trainees will have to solve a riddle in order to attain the passcode for the first padlock, which unlocks their second clue.

Find the three digit number in which the first digit is one fourth of the last digit, the second digit is six times the first digit and the third digit is the second digit plus 2.

Answer: 164

Solving the Second Password
The patrol is required to solve the trekking sign on a doll’s clothes, that directs the patrol to an article and a riddle.

Trainees need to solve the following riddle in order to find the word ‘ice’, which is important in finding out the passcode for the second padlock.

A precious stone, as clear as diamond.
Seek it out whilst the sun’s near the horizon.
Though you can walk on water with its power,
Try to keep it, and it’ll vanish in an hour.

Paired with the answer from the previous riddle, the article is essential is helping them unlock the padlock as the trainees have to count the number of ‘i’s, ‘c’s and ‘e’s in the highlighted words in the article, so as to find out the numbers needed to open the last box. The unlocked padlock will allow them to open the box and find the murder weapon, hence proving their innocence.

Mass Station
The trainees will have to solve 6 puzzles in total. At each station, the stationmasters will give each patrol a puzzle piece. By the end of all 6 stations, each patrol should have received a total of 6 puzzle pieces. The 36 puzzle pieces will be randomly jumbled up and there is only one puzzle across the 团. The puzzle is a list of all the counsellors’ names, whereby 5 out of 6 of the names will be crossed out. This is because the last name which is not crossed out is the one with the antidote to save humanity.

For the next segment, the patrols will be briefed on the solving of the puzzle piece. They will then be given 25 minutes to solve it. They will have to not only solve the puzzle, but also find the counsellor whose name had not been cancelled. During this time, all the aforementioned counsellors would be hiding at each station. If the trainees arrive at the wrong station, they will have to do a forfeit given by the station masters in order to leave. Trainees are required to communicate with each other or devise a plan so that they do not keep having to do forfeits in order to leave the wrong station. Once Phoebe (whose name is stated on the puzzle piece) is found, trainees are required to return to Olave Hall.

Reflection from a Year 1:
Night Games was better than I had expected. The riddles and mysteries were challenging and exciting. Each station had its own creative story, and the counsellors made it very convincing. It was thrilling, and I actually felt like I was trapped in my own horror movie. Unfortunately, my patrol got stuck at many of the riddles and puzzles, which was quite disappointing. I feel that the time given for Night Games should be extended, so that we would have more time to solve the riddles. The Ice station was the most difficult one, and it was quite sad to leave the station without completing it.

Reflection from a Year 2:
Night Games was another aspect of ATC which I enjoyed greatly. It was really fun to go from station to station with my patrol as we worked together to ensure each others’ safety and complete the tasks in the short span of time given. I feel that the stations were very well-planned and did inflict the intended small sense of fear in us. We were able to work more efficiently with the fear and urgency which spurred us on. However, I feel that we would have done better if we had been more observant and cooperated with each other better.

2.0 Day Two

The trainees had Morning PT in the morning, while the counsellors 起-ed the company flagpole. The trainees then proceeded to have breakfast. Afterwards, it was 升旗.

2.1 Morning PT

Morning PT aimed to train the endurance and physical stamina of the trainees, place emphasis on the importance of teamwork, and cultivate a 等人 attitude. Firstly, the trainees were required to do a full body warm up which consisted of neck rotation, shoulder stretch, tricep stretch, adductor stretch, hamstrings stretch, and ankle rotations. Next, they proceeded to run around the perimeters of Olave Hall for 3 minutes. After which, the trainees engaged in a 15 minute long game of Dog and Bone.

The patrols will be split into 2 large groups; Group 1 consisting of P1, P2 and P3; Group 2 consisting of P4, P5 and P6. They must try to get the bone (netball) before the other group does. When one gets the bone, the other group can try to tag them before they get back to their team line, and the person would have to drop the bone. From the 5 minute interval onwards, they would have to complete a set of PT as a patrol before being able to run out to get the bone.

Reflection from a Year 2:
I feel that Morning PT was a rather good way to start off the day as we were able to warm ourselves up for the tiring day ahead. Also, we did the Morning PT together and even though it might be tough doing certain exercises, it still felt rather heartwarming that we had one another. However, I still feel that most of us could have been more enthusiastic, especially during the Dog and Bone game. Although some people clearly fit the questions’ requirement, they did not run out and most people were just standing by the side. Also, we could have cheered more to boost our morale.
2.2 升旗

The trainees changed into their Guides Uniform during breakfast. After which, they 集合-ed in front of the company flagpole, at Brown Sea. After break off, the Guides marched around the field and proceeded to 排马蹄. They stood at attention while the company flag was raised. Next, they 集合-ed again, and were broken off to form a horseshoe formation around the individual patrol flagpoles. The individual patrol flags were raised after that as well. They then 集合-ed again, and the trainees mass changed into their PE attire for Camp Development Part 3.

2.3 Camp Development Part 3

For the final part of Camp Development, the trainees built their Creative Gadgets, and finished up all remaining structures that had not been completed the previous day.

Reflection from a Year 2:
My Camp D Part 3 experience was not a pleasant one as that was when I truly felt how tight our time was and when I really understood how little time we had to complete the remaining structures. Our patrol was already lagging behind others, as we did not manage to complete our creative gadget, meaningful improvement gadget as well as fire altar during Camp D Part 1 and 2. To make matters worse, our Kitchen Shelter (KS) was not very stable. This caused us to slightly panic t as we did not think that we had enough time to complete the structures. We neglected our cheering and constant 报时despite reminders from our counsellors, and some of our lashes were not up to standard. Many a time, the KS would be on the brink of collapsing which only added to our frustration. Camp D Part 3 hence taught me to plan our precious time wisely and not rush the fundamental steps, especially when building structures like the KS as it may pose a big problem afterwards, yet also not neglecting our sense of urgency and patrol morale in the process.

2.4 Outdoor Cooking

Prior to the start of ATC, the trainees were required to brainstorm and come up with a main dish (meat), an appetizer (snack), a vegetable and a dessert which linked to the theme ‘Themelius’. The trainees will be provided with ingredients such as rice, oyster sauce, light soya sauce, salt, oil, pepper and sugar. They can decide on whether they would like to bring additional ingredients of their own. However, each patrol member will only be able to spend $3 and the ingredients have to be halal. They will then be asked to submit proposals of their ideas to ensure that all their dishes are feasible and can be completed within the given time frame with suitable rationales supporting each of the dishes they come up with.

Here is the overall storyline for OC:
Each and every element has its distinct uniqueness, its strengths and weaknesses. To be able to understand these elements and utilize them to the best of their abilities, you first need to understand their properties and abilities. Just like food ingredients, when brought together, one can completely ruin their flavours or bring their flavours together in harmony, perhaps even enhancing them. You are to come up with 4 dishes, a main dish (meat), an appetizer (snack), a vegetable and a dessert, that is related to the theme “Themelius”. These dishes would fuel your patrol’s strengths, aiding you in the long journey ahead. Set forth and let your imagination flow!

During the camp itself, the trainees were given 1h 50 minutes to follow the recipes they had come up with during Camp Preparation days. They were allowed to set up as many fires as they needed, but all fires had to be started with kindlings only. This aimed to give the trainees an opportunity to cook outdoors with few and natural resources, and to test their fire-lighting skills. After they had finished cooking all their 4 dishes, every patrol had to send a few representatives to present their dishes at Pax Lodge with a short rationale of their dish.



























Reflection from a Year 1:
For OC, we had sufficient kindlings, which was quite good. However, they were not very dry and we thus had trouble starting and maintaining the fire. Additionally, the wet kindlings had caused a lot of smoke to appear, and I felt that we could have done better in terms of choosing and picking them, but we still managed to thoroughly cook all our food. The Kitchen Shelter (KS) that we had built was rather unstable and we could have done better in 抽-ing the 麻绳 for that particular side to ensure that our KS would not 倒 while we were cooking.

Reflection from a Year 2:
Outdoor Cooking was one of the activities during ATC which I had enjoyed the most. Although my patrol faced many problems due to the kindlings not being able to light up, thus causing us to be unable to sustain the fire, my patrol was able to form a closer bond as we worked together to overcome these challenges that we faced. Although we did not cheer and 报时 as much as we should have, we were still able to work together enthusiastically. However, I feel that us Year 2s should have given the Year 1s more opportunities to help out as we were too focused on the task to utilize our manpower wisely.

2.5 Obstacle Journey

After the trainees finished their lunch, it was time for Obstacle Journey (OJ). This OJ aimed to provide opportunities for the Year 2s to train their soft skills in different circumstances, to test and improve the Year 1s’ hard skills, to test the trainees on their sense of urgency and communication within as well as across patrols and batches, and to promote teamwork and cooperation among batchmates and patrol mates.

Here is the overall storyline for OJ:
Everything you know is peace. Everything is going well, your apprenticeship with Master Shifu about manipulating elements, your family, your friends could not be more perfect. There has nothing that can disrupt your utopia, or so you thought.

When a former apprentice of Master Shifu, Mojojo, joins the Aether and goes rogue, the elements are misused and your whole world is shaken. With the elements unbalanced, floods, typhoons, earthquakes are now a daily occurrence and they are getting worse and worse with every moment. You know that you have to do something before Earth is destroyed forever and the entire existence of humans is wiped. Journey on a quest through different obstacles to save the world, defeat Mojojo and finally, help to stop the Aether.

The trainees were given 6 minutes to mass change into their OJ Kit and to 集合 at Olave Hall for the commencement of OJ. Firstly, they had inspection to ensure that they had everything they needed for OJ. The trainees were given 5 minutes to decide on their own layout and standardise it among the patrols. After which, the counsellors went around and graded their layouts and attire. Then, they were informed of the locations of the 6 stations and they headed off to them.


Station 1: Pioneering

Storyline:
Welcome trainees. An earthquake has occurred due to the misuse of the elements. It has caused your patrol to be separated into half by a giant ditch. For this station, the patrol will be split into two groups. You have to build a structure that will allow your patrol members to cross over the ditch to the other side. The parts of the structure that cross over the ditch has to be elevated. The area within the masking tape is the ditch. If any logistic or person enters this area, you will have to do a forfeit. Also, the two groups are not allowed to communicate with each other at all. However, every 3 minutes, one Year 2 will be allowed to communicate with the other group. You will be given 1 minute to discuss first.

8 红木, 2 黄木, and 4 青木 would be provided for the trainees. The trainees were given 17 minutes to build the structure which they had discussed about. They are able to use any of their logistics to aid them.

Station 2: Survival Skills

Storyline:
Dusk is falling. As a result of Mojojo’s mischief, the elements are disturbed and a storm is impending. Unfortunately, you are stuck in a forest with lacking food and water supplies that threaten your survival and you have little to sustain for the night. You have 20 minutes in total to prepare what you need for the night. Look around for clues and keep in mind the three essentials to survive - be sure to prioritise wisely. However, one patrol member has to step out and 集合 every 5 minutes. Failing to do that will put you at a disadvantage. Time is ticking, act quickly before it is too late.

Station 3: Trekking Signs

Storyline:
Your patrol was on a journey in search of the magic stone that would be able to end all crises started by the evil Mojojo and once again, restore peace on earth. Little did you know that, in your last stretch of your arduous journey, you would meet a minefield! Additionally, one of your patrol mates fainted due to heatstroke, which just made things worse. Now, you would have to build a structure that would be able to transport the casualty along with the patrol 配备 to the other end of the minefield. Using your knowledge on trekking signs, help your patrol get out of the minefield and save your patrol mate!

During the building of the structure, there would be 1 person who would be blindfolded and 2 people would be unable to speak. The people who are unable to speak are allowed to reply to whatever the PL/ PS asks or says by nodding or shaking their head. The patrol would be given 15 minutes to build the structure and 5 minutes to get across the minefield.

For the minefield game, the patrol would be given 5 minutes and a maximum of 3 tries to get across the minefield. They are allowed to move horizontally, vertically and diagonally. There are a total of 4 mines and if they are stepped on, the patrol has to return to the starting point. They are to follow the trekking signs pasted on the floor. They can obtain 4 hints from the SM that would be in the form of trekking signs. However, they would have to first answer a trekking sign question posted by the SM. They would be given at most 10 seconds to guess and tell the SM the definition of each trekking sign, or else they would not be given any hints.

Station 4: Creative Gadgeting

Storyline:
  1. With Mojojo tampering with the Earth’s elements, he has left the elements extremely unbalanced, to a point where catastrophic natural disasters are just waiting to strike. Suddenly, due to a shift in the ocean floor, you observe a tsunami in the form of large waves heading your way. You are to build something to elevate your logistics, excluding 青木.

Using the gadget poles provided (6 长木, 4 中长木, 8 短木), trainees will be given 7 minutes to build the structure to elevate their logistics. They are encouraged to think out of the box and build something creative, and will be advised to not build a standard baggage rack.

The trainees then spent 3 minutes to 拆掉 their structure, before being briefed on the second part of the station.

Storyline:
2. Suddenly, the Earth’s crust right beneath your feet start to spread further and further away from each other until there is a gaping hole. You are to build a scaled-down bridge to help you across the crater so you can continue your journey.

Station 5: First Aid

Storyline:
In your journey to heroically save the world, you have stumbled across a tomb. In your haste you have unfortunately angered the resting god in the tomb, thus unleashing a mighty hail and thunderstorm on yourselves. This has caused a few of your patrol members have also been injured. Also, certain areas will be deemed dangerous so decide which patrol member should be treated first. Hurry and treat your patrol mates and cross the treacherous area! Remember that your patrol mates are injured so they must have a suitable means of transport. Your mode of transport does not necessarily have to be built, but certain injuries require a structure.

The trainees will be provided with 5 白木, 5 青木 and 3 红木 to build their structure. They will be given 25 minutes to build a stretcher and treat the casualties.

Injuries:
  1. 1 patrol member to be in Shock and has Electrical burns (Area collapses after 12min)
  2. 1 patrol member to be Unconscious and has a deep laceration on her stomach. (To have a note on her arm) (Area collapses after 9min)  - Requires a stretcher [Guides Code]

Station 6: Escape Room

Storyline:
In the midst of your quest to search for another element, you come across particularly toxic air. You run into an abandoned house in hopes of evading the highly poisonous air. To your dismay, the air begins seeping through the crack under the front door of the house. The only way in which you can escape is through the back door of the house. But firstly, you need to find some clues which will determine your survival.

Instructions:
The patrol would be tasked to find post-its with riddles/questions on them. They would then have to solve the riddles/questions, and unscramble the first letters of their answers to form the word BALANCE, which will enable the trainees to escape the room. However, penalty post-its would also be placed around the jail. The patrol will have to do the penalty together immediately after finding the post-it, before they will be allowed to continue with their task. The patrol will 集合 back after 20 minutes, regardless of whether they have finishing unscrambling or solving the riddles/questions. However, in the 20 minutes given to them, different scenarios will be given to the patrol, to test their prioritisation skills in the order of which scenario is the more important.

Scenarios:
At 2 minute mark
2 patrol members would not be able to use their hands at all, due to muscle cramps, for 2 minutes
At 5 minute mark
2 patrol members would not be able to see (blindfolded), that will last for the rest of the time given.
At 7 minute mark
Bear attack that will last for 1 minute (bear is immune to toxic air).

2 patrol members would not be able to speak at all (due to toxic air), that will last for the rest of the time given.
At 13 minute mark
3 patrol members would not be able to walk (after suffering leg injuries), that will last for 3 minutes.

The trainees then listened to a debrief conducted by the OJ SMs, before they were given 6 minutes to mass change into their Guides Uniform for 降旗. After which, they proceeded to have dinner and washed up, while the counsellors 拆-ed the 团旗.

Reflection from a Year 1:
For OJ, our 配备, water bottles and 白绳 all got kupped quite a few times, so for the subsequent stations, we tried to keep them safe by bringing them wherever we went. Additionally, we looked out for one another as we faced a shortage of manpower and if either of us got kupped by the seniors, we may not be able to finish what was assigned to us in time. We were also unable to light up our signal fire for our last station as our bag of 木麻黄 went missing after Outdoor Cooking. For the last few stations, we improved and less things got kupped, so OJ ended on a good note.

Reflection from a Year 2:
Obstacle Journey was one of the most fulfilling activities throughout my whole ATC journey, as the feeling of achievement after completing OJ is immeasurable. OJ tested our skills as well as takeaways we gained from Guides, such as resilience, communication, stamina, overall bondedness between the patrol and many more, which is a great platform to exhibit our talents. Although OJ was not an entirely smooth sailing experience, I felt that it really helped me to improve myself, as well as my patrol mates, to be more efficient and a stronger patrol as a whole. Through the annoyance of our logistics being taken away often, the frustration of not being able to complete a station within time limit, the sense of accomplishment for impressing our seniors, I felt that our patrol benefitted much as we got to know the strengths and weaknesses of one another and improve from there for the rest of ATC.

2.6 Campfire

When night fell, it was finally time for the long-awaited campfire to commence. After the Guides and Guiders took their seats, the song leaders were introduced and they started the ball rolling with “Campfire’s Burning”.





P1’s Storyline:
The skit starts with the 4 elements of Kingdom Themelius going against the threat of the Aether. Unwilling to admit that the others were stronger than themselves, each element went their separate ways, hoping to defeat the Aether on their own, only to face crushing defeat. They realise that they cannot face the evil powers of the Aether without the other elements to make up for their own weaknesses. They come together as a united front and score overwhelming victory over the Aether, saving their Kingdom and preserving everlasting friendships.


P2’s Storyline:
Iggy wanted to be the dominant power and rule the world. When the other elements heard of her plan, they tried to persuade her not to do so but she did not listen and even restricted the power of the other 3 elements. Iggy then started spreading fire which, in her opinion, was warmth, around the world, destroying half the world in the process. Iggy soon realised that she was destroying the world as she saw the living plants and animals die upon her arrival. So, Fire needed help from all the elements to help reverse the harm it had made. From this incident, they learnt that they need to work together to maintain peace.


P3’s Storyline:
Once upon a time, the earth was divided into four elements -- fire, water, earth and air. Each of them claimed that they were the most important thing for human survival. They had gotten some human beings to live at their respective sections for a while. Initially, the people from the water section were happy as they could enjoy the cool water and have fun. However, they soon realised that they had no land to stand on and no fire to warm them or to cook their food. Secondly, some started contracting hypothermia. Humans from the fire section enjoyed the warmth and comfort. But, they soon felt very warm and longed for some wind. They also wanted some water to keep them hydrated, as well as some space to rest without being burnt. Those living in the earth section had no water to drink and insufficient heat to keep warm. No plants and animals could thrive in the earth section due to the lack of water and heat. This resulted in the lack of food for the people there. The people living in the air section enjoyed the cool air and was relaxed but they soon longed for some warmth and water. Soon, the elements realised that the people living at their individual sections could not thrive and came together to make the earth a more liveable place for humans to live.


P4’s Storyline:
The skit shows how a group of individual fairies being put together to compete as a team in a talent competition turned their differences into strengths.


P5’s Storyline:
The skit is set in Greece, where there lives 4 different divisions -- Air, Earth, Water and Fire. They were able to coexist due to different ideologies but each thought that their own division was the most outstanding. An announcement of a singing competition was to be held soon. As all divisions wanted to attain victory, they sent their best representatives to the competition. However, in the midst of the competition, the different competitors realised that they themselves might not actually have been the best out of all of the others, and found each other’s strengths and weaknesses in the process. The organiser behind this competition, hoped that this competition would ultimately bring the competitors from the different divisions together as one, to recreate a new way of life where everyone’s strengths complemented each other for them to live in harmony. Thus, she forces them to meet their weaknesses and work together.


P6’s Storyline:
The skit starts with a group of students staying back to do a project alone as their teacher had left first because of an important issue. As the students worked in silence, the cleaner thought no one was in the room and locked the door. Suddenly a power outage occurred. The students tried to escape but found the door locked and started to bicker amongst each other about who was the one at fault. One of them then found a matchstick box and wanted to light it up so they could see their surroundings. However, another student accidentally knocked into that student and the match dropped, starting a fire. The students huddled in a corner and started pushing the blame to each other. Another student found a fire extinguisher and all of them attempted to put out the fire together. Afterwards, they managed to escaped by damaging the lock.


The campfire then ended with Ms Idah’s yarn about a story of friendship.



Reflection from a Year 1:
For the campfire, it was very fun and interesting as we got to watch all the different performances by the patrols, as well as sing along with the song leaders. I was quite nervous initially as I was not very sure about how I would do in the performance as my voice was rather soft and I could not remember my dance steps very well. However, I put in my best and it ultimately turned out to be a satisfactory effort.

Reflection from a Year 2:
For Campfire, I was one of the song leaders and our main job was to lead the others in singing the campfire songs. I think that having a campfire on the second night was the highlight of the camp as after working with each other and completing the many tasks, sitting down together and singing campfire songs will make one truly appreciate the company they have while going through the camp. From my experience as a song leader, I learnt many things such as teamwork, as we had to standardize our actions as well as many minor details such as when we raised our hands, which direction to swing our arms first and many more. This taught me the importance of cooperation and working well with one another to bring about the best possible performance for everyone. All in all, I would say that the campfire was extremely enjoyable.

3.0 Day Three

It was the last day of camp! Everyone was tired but first, the trainees had Morning Evacuation, before proceeding with Strike Camp.

3.1 Strike Camp

The trainees were given 30 minutes to 拆 everything, except for their Camp Christine tents. Unfortunately, progress was slow and they had to ask for a time extension. After which, they proceeded with patrol logistics inspection. They continued striking their Camp Christine tents after breakfast.

3.2 Inspection

This inspection aimed to build up inter-patrol and inter-batch communication skills, to train the Year 1’s initiative taking skills and the Year 2’s leadership skills, and to ensure that the trainees had all their logistics before returning to school. The trainees were required to lay out their patrol logistics in 7 minutes, and the layout was standardised among themselves on the spot. After which, their layouts would be checked by the counsellors, while the trainees completed circuit PT, comprising of 2 minute leg raise, 20 burpees, and 10 squats with buddha claps. The trainees had to set a goal for themselves on the number of circuits they could complete in 9 minutes. However, they would only complete a maximum of 3 circuits. Next, the trainees were given a layout to follow, and they had to lay out all their patrol logistics again, in 8 minutes.



Reflection from a Year 1:
For this In-Camp Inspection, my patrol did not have a significant number of items we were supposed to have in the layout, including our personal logistics like water bottles as we had forgotten to take them out of the venue where we had placed them before the Mystery Games were being prepared. Most of the items we did not have were under our emergency shelter. For example, all our 麻绳 and our survival kit was there. From this inspection, I learnt that we should not put everything at one location as we should have at least some 麻绳 with us as we may need them anytime but might not have time to retrieve them.

Reflection from a Year 2:
During the In-Camp Inspection, I felt that we could have done better, given the manpower we had available to lay out all our logistics. In addition, it was difficult to hear who was in charge as there was a lot of noise and everyone was pressured under the time limit and improvised layout. Furthermore, a fundamental problem was the lack of initiative regarding 报时-ing, and sometimes telling every patrol to send one person out to ask for time extension was a challenge due to the lack of proper communication. Sometimes, the orientation was also not correct in the layout, which indicated our need to step up more. However, I feel that despite the limitations stated above, we have still done well when it comes to company spirit as when some patrols were done with their layout, they would go over to other patrols and aid them wherever they could.

3.3 Mystery Games

After Strike Camp ended, Mystery Games then commenced. As its name suggests, Mystery Games was kept a “mystery” to all the trainees and counsellors and was planned by the Young Adult Leaders (YALs). This is what happened.

Year Ones:

Mystery Games was split into two parts. For the first part, we were given a scenario and we had to pack our 配备 according to the scenario given. Following which, we had inspection and we had to standardise our layouts. After the YALs checked our layout, they made some changes to our layout and we had to lay out our items according to the updated layout. It was very messy, especially for the second round, as it was rather difficult to recall our original layout. Additionally, during the inspection, we decided to follow a patrol’s layout, but that patrol’s layout kept changing, and it was very chaotic and confusing. It was rather difficult for some patrols, as there were only 2 Year 1s in those patrols. I feel that it would be easier if we communicated better with each other.The YALs pointed out some of our mistakes, such as bringing too many things in our First Aid Kit, when we only needed bandages. The second part was PT. We had to run 12 rounds around the hall. Also, as we had committed 7 mistakes, we had to take 7 trainees’ logistics and do 1 round of caterpillar walk around the hall. It was difficult, carrying 6 配备s and 7 bags. I felt that our batch morale was very high as we cheered throughout the PT. I felt that Mystery games turned out okay, as we cheered a lot and kept the batch morale high, which is something we should continue doing.

Year Twos:

During Mystery Games, we were split into twos and we each had to find a partner to tie our hands with. We had to find 4 tasks in Olave Hall and complete all of them in 20 minutes. We had quite a lot of manpower so we managed to find 3 tasks quickly. However, finding the last task was slightly challenging so we divided our manpower to complete the tasks that we had already found. One of the tasks was to build a multipurpose structure so we decided to build a baggage rack with a poncho as a shelter. While we were building the structures, some of us were not allowed to tie and some were not allowed to talk. Hence, we had difficulty communicating with one another but we managed to finish tying the structure. There was another task where we had to list down 20 events during which we bonded as a batch and explain. Everyone had to say at least once so more people took initiative. This also made me realise how much we have already gone through together as a batch. When we were asking for time extension, we had to do it multiple times as we either did not do it together, or the 敬礼 was not standard. Whenever we asked for time extension, it had to be different people so everyone learned how to 敬礼 properly. After completing the tasks, we had to run around the campsite while cheering constantly. Whenever there was silence between cheers, we had to stop and dance Maboleh. While we were running, we took turns cheering and we made sure to cheer as loud as possible and this really increased our batch morale.

Year Threes:

For Mystery Games, our batch was told to retrieve all our personal logistics including our Guides uniform and files. 三个人 were told to 出来 when we 集合-ed, and the rest of us had to run from one end of Camp Christine to the other, which is from Olave Hall to the tools shed at the far end, for a whole 30 minutes while carrying all the personal logistics of the whole batch including those of the three people. We started the Barang PT and at certain points in time we were told that the overall timing was shortened to a final 21 minutes. It was then we realized that for every round of circuit PT the 3 people did, 3 minutes would be deducted from our Barang PT timing. After the PT, we did Creative Gadgeting, having to choose structures to build from 2 lists of structures worth ten points and thirty points each on each list respectively, and we had to build a total worth of 150 points in 20 minutes. We did not succeed in this activity but it reinforced our skills in time and manpower management, along with strategic planning. Throughout Mystery Games, our batch morale was rather high and we constantly cheered and 报时-ed together, helping each other carry stuff along the way. It was extremely heartening to be doing such a batch activity as it brought back memories as a trainee, while reminding us that we needed to keep fit even after we became the 领导层. To many of us, we felt quite happy that we were able to do such activities as a batch again as we sort of missed doing this after Passing Down Parade (PDP) so it was quite enjoyable as part of our last camp together :")

3.4 Company Games

After Mystery Games, it was time for Company Games, which aimed to promote company bonding.

Storyline:
In the final part of your journey to defeat Aether, you have one last challenge to complete. Although these activities may seem easy, they will decide your fate. Find the murderer of King Ellemanto and defeat the Aether. The winning patrol will also arise to the throne and form the new government. Good luck and we hope you don’t disappoint us.
The first game was Photoshoot, which the counsellors were allowed to take part in.

Photoshoot:
There are 10 rounds in this game and each of the 6 patrols would send 1 patrol mate to participate in each round. The 6 Guides have to run from the starting line to 1 metre before the camera and jump, in order to be captured by the camera. The camera would only shoot after 20 seconds.

In the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds: Guides have to jump and be captured by the camera

4th and 5th round: Make an emotionless face at the camera

6th and 7th round:  Make an ugly face at the camera

8th and 9th round: Wink at the camera

10th round: Make a kissing face at the camera

A counsellor would be the photographer. All the photos would be evaluated by her after each round. The top 4 patrols who appeared on the photos the most number of times would earn points. 5 points will be given to the top patrol, 3 for the second and third and 2 for the fourth patrol. A clue would be given to each of the patrols.

The next game was Capture the Flag, which lasted for 30 minutes.

Capture the Flag:
2 patrols will be allocated to each lodge and they have 2 minutes to hide their flag. Afterwards, when the game begins, a maximum of 4 patrol members can stay to protect the flag at a time. The rest have to try to steal the flags from the other patrols. Each patrol will be allocated another patrol whose flag they need to steal. This flag will be worth 5 points. They can also steal flags from patrols they are not allocated to, but they will be worth 3 points. The patrol can also look around the campsite to find flags from past ATCs and Patrol Leader Training Camps (PLTCs), which will be worth 2 points each. Each person will also have a rubbish bag strip which will be tucked into their shorts. If this gets ripped off, they are out of the game and have to go to Olave Hall where they have to pick a number from 1 to 7 and do its corresponding forfeit before they can get a new name tag and return to the game. However, at the end of the game, each patrol has to decide on an answer as to who killed King Ellemanto. The patrols with the correct answer will be awarded 30 more points.

Reflection from a Year 2:
During Company Games, I felt that on a whole, everyone did their respective parts to the best of their abilities. Although, at a first glance, the activities were just there for us to have fun, there was also an underlying need to carefully plan our actions, especially during Capture the Flag, as well as to communicate with each other to figure out the true culprit in the storyline. Despite this, I feel that the Company Games have successfully helped us grow closer together and develop strong bonds with one another, which is the basis of a truly united patrol, and by extension, the whole company.

3.5 Ending

After Company Games were over, we had lunch and then proceeded to watch a photo montage prepared by a few of the counsellors. Prize presentation was then carried out. Congratulations to all of the patrols!

After which, everyone loaded the logistics onto the lorry and bid Camp Christine goodbye, before returning back to school. Back in school, we unloaded the logistics and returned them to 团部 and backstore. Lastly, it was time for break camp.


These 3 days and 2 nights had been tiring for all, but we hope that all the trainees have grown and learnt something new in the process. For the Year 1s, we hope that y’all have brushed up on your hard skills and we hope that you will apply what you have learnt in ATC to future 集合s. As for the Year 2s, we hope that ATC had provided a platform for y’all to work on your leadership skills and be more prepared for PLTC. This has been a fruitful journey for us Year 3s too, and we have learnt many new things from this fulfilling ATC as well. Rest well! :D
