Searching for?

24 January 2009

Hello guides :D

Yesterday we jihe at our usual place in coytee/PE with slacks and belt. The eight patrols were divided into groups of 4 to complete 4 different checkpoints together. P1 and P7, P2 and P6, P3 and P5, P4 and P8.

For patrol 4 and 8, we went to our first station which was at the junior high classroom block. We had to search for answers to match with the set of questions the station master gave us while 2 of our patrol mates would have to be in boys style pumping position. Thus we have to be quick while searching for the answers which was hidden in plastic bags at 2 different levels. The next station was a PT checkpoint at the fitness corner. We had to zhan ma while one of us would have to complete a circuit which consists of crossing the monkey bar, hanging on the incline pull-up bar or to do 18 incline and then to crabwalk back to join the rest in zhan ma. When the station master wanted the next volunteer to do the circuit, no one volunteer themselves immediately. Everyone was in this together, it does not matter if which one of us went first thus we should have more initiative. The third checkpoint was the fireman's ladder. Our sec4s taught us on how we should tie the structure and everyone was to go through it at least once. For us, the sec2s, it was something new and interesting. Even though we were scared but with the patrol holding the structure for us and the sec4s helping us, some of us managed to overcome our fear. The forth checkpoint was the sheng qiao. It is a structure with 2 A-frame connected by a ying sheng. We had to use the back of our knee not ankle to hook onto the ying sheng and move across by swinging our legs and moving our hands.

Overall, today's jihe was the first time for some us to go through the traditional games. Although it was tough but I enjoyed myself.

Love guides :)
