Hi guides(:

Two weeks back on the 10th January, a few of us went to help out at the opening run of the Youth Olympics 2010. It was voluntary work by HQ and we had a chance to help out in a large-scale event. We were mainly the road marshals that directed the marathon runners and make sure the traffic flow was not disturbed by the race. It was a full day activity, which lasted for around 8 hours.

I would like to commend the guides that helped out, that even though the weather was really hot, their spirits were very high and we had fun interacting with each other, as well as other school's guides. I believe that this is the first time that we participated in such an activity and it was a whole new experience for us to have a taste of being a road marshall.

As we were mostly from different patrol, this event also helped us in bonding. We had a lot of free time in between, and we made good use of it to get to know each other better. It was a rare opportunity for the us Year 4s and 2s to spend time together talking.

A gentle reminder to all guides: as we are representing Dunman High Guides, please make the effort to have proper attire no matter what activities, whether in school or for HG voluntary.

Overall, I believe we all had fun throughout this event. We hope to help out in this type of event in the future!

Love guides(: jiayou for all upcoming activites!
