This is the very last time I have the right to post here, at this guides blog. So I hope the juniors can continue this duty and update this regularly so that we, who have passed down, will be informed of regular activities and how are you guys doing.
Yesterday, we had passing down 2007. We started the Friday afternoon with evaluation for the sec2s and sec3s. We might not name all the problems and mistakes, but throughout all these years, what we have to say, they are all said. Hopefully all of you all can keep together strong and overcome all problems to improve the standard of dhs guides.
We had full dress rehersal for enrolment and proceeded on to the actual enrolment cum passing down. It was a long ceremony as it was enrolment AND passing down. The sec1s were finally enrolled and we hope you guys can contribute more to dhs guides because all of you make a difference too. Then, we had passing down, where the sec3s stepped out to take the responsiblity from the sec4s. Alot of people started crying at this moment, because it was a moment that signified we were out of guides officially, because it was a moment we see our juniors grow, because it was a moment where dhs guides have a new leader. We took company photo, patrol photo and jie photo. It was definitely a moment worth remembering.
There was preparation for our individual jie items and the passing down party started. The sec4s were welcomed through the main gate and we totally looked like fools HAHA (but well, the last time we can be made to look like fools). We were supposed to go through a mess of balloons and find the balloons with our names and then limbo through a mu. There were alot of screams (-.-) and fun and malu-ness.
The emcees were very engaging and enthusiastic. We had mass dance, where half the time we were fooling around and being very high. Ironically, the sec1s and sec2s weren't high -.-" Sec1s had their item first and we sang along with them. Following on was the sec2s' item. It was a skit and then a song, which they changed the lyrics. I vaguely remembered the song end with "I am a guide". So those who heared it teared abit. There was a beautiful banner hanging at the stage too, and it was rather touching. Then was mini game, where we were supposed to guess who was behind the cloth from the shadow shown. It was creative so to speak but somehow, it didn't very much involve the sec2s and sec1s because the sec4s were shouting all the way.
Next was sec3s' item. It was a skit too, and then a dance. Thank you sec3s for the great effort. Then was the sec4s' item. The background music didnt flow very well so it ended up quite leng chang. But we carried on with it. We sang "at the beginning" then a speech to every jie followed by giving presents. The climax would be the presentation for guiders, where "THANK U" were hung from above the stage down and balloons were strewn everywhere. We sang "shou qian shou", followed by a screening of video and guides songs. Some changes were very impromptu and pardon us for taking such a long time (last time already ma haha always using "the last time" as an excuse -.-)
There was a video shown and the a speech by Mrs chin to the sec4s. Mrs chin started crying and it really shocked all of us because we had never seen this side of her before in any of the previous passing downs. We took our presents, hugged Mrs chin, took photos and then return to our seats. There was patrol corner, then shower time and lights out. Alot of prople slept late and some were even cooking maggie mee -.- We woke up, had clean up and then it was officially the last time where the sec4s could stand beside the company officially.

Sec3s: Attaining this role of shouldering guides does not mean you all can be complacent and proud. All of you should put aside all differences and work together as one, because only then can DHS guides shine. Posting is only a formality, not a status where you can use it to overshadow others. You guys are ONE jie, not 23 people. Lead with respect, lead by example. Improve on your attire and brush up your skills and attitude. Whenever you feel like giving up, think of how much your seniors have put in to make you who you are today. Do not let us down, do not let guides down, do not let yourself down. Keep going, because that's the least you can do.
Sec2s: Help your seniors out, because you are the only support they can count on now besides themselves. Unite as one, don't stand divided. Do not even think of slacking, because this is the time you all should work doubly hard to prove your worth in guides. You all must stand strong and undivided, be more enthusiastic and sing the LOUDEST in guides activities. Train your sec1s up, we believe in all of you. Keep the passion burning.
Sec1s: Brush up your skills, start contributing to guides because you all are officially a guide already. Try to bond so as to keep your batch together. Be enthusiastic and live up to the noisy reputation that all guides have. Meet up regularly so as not to lose touch on your skills. Keep pia-ing, keep going, never give up for everyone else is doing the same thing as you. Respect your seniors, respect the guiders, because they are the one who make things possible for you.
To all: Jiayou in guides, never give up for in your hands, is the heart, effort, blood and sweat of all the 38 batches before you. Put your heart and soul into everything you do, keep up with the standard and tradition. Never say die.
DHS GUIDES, is the best CCA anyone can be in. Bring out the best in DHS GUIDES, everyone.
