International camp! :D

Hello! :D 17 Dunman high guides went to the international camp at Camp Christine!!! It was quite a different camp compared to the ones that we normally have :D There are four sub camps in total and the 17 of us were being divided into three different sub camps. However, none of our patrols had any international guide. Throughout the five days, we had five different activities on three days and all of us are given our own schedule, though some of us got the same activities on the same day and same time! :D
On the first day, there wasn’t much to do except setting up our tents and having some ice-breaker games. :D The activities only started on the second day. Some of the different activities that our school guides went were: wakeboarding, fencing, recycling art, archery/pioneering, orienteering, night tour, Pulau Ubin cycling, backwoodsman cooking, bowling/ice climbing, rafting, batik painting, horse riding, kayaking and etc (if there’s still any that I left out :D ). This camp really lets us try out different things that we normally would not do, so its quite a good experience for all of us! :D

Recycling art
We were allowed to choose whether we want to sew our own customized pouch or spend all the time doing toe-weaving :D if not for this camp, I guessed I would not have even know that there is something called toe-weaving in this world! :D

Archery/pioneering
For guides, pioneering would be something that we knew at first hand, I guess? :D as for archery, it’s a good experience because we learnt how to stand at the correct position and the posture and the commands! :D

Bowling/ice climbing
For bowling, we went to safra yishun (If I remembered correctly :D). We had unlimited plays and we all had fun :D As for ice climbing, we were quite disappointed when we knew that the ice was being replaced by styrofoam. But nevertheless, we still had fun and ‘ice’ climbing really requires much arm strength!!!

Orienteering
It was a new experience for all of us. We had a session about learning how to use a compass before setting off to walking around the area outside camp Christine, ‘visiting’ the farms nearby :D Throughout the activity, we were told to look out for one another, especially the younger ones (brownies) and the international guides!!! :D

Campfire! :D
What's a camp without a campfire? :D We sang songs and during the campfire, we realised that the songs that we sang are quite different from others. Some are different in lyrics while some are different tunes! There are also songs that we didn't know in the first place! However, we tried to get involved in all the singing and we felt quite high! :D It was a great campfire! :D

On the whole, this camp was a great experience to those who went and we also made quite a number of friends from other schools and other countries! :D It was a fun camp! GOODBYE!:D
