Reflections from a Year 3…
All of us were bubbling with excitement to meet our new juniors, and formally introduce them to guides. I was quite shocked at the fact that we had 27 Year One recruited into our cca, as it is a relatively big number compared to the past years. For 集合, we had to play games together as patrol, to facilitate ourselves to know the Year Ones better, and I felt that the station games were inspiring yet fun as they forced us to split up into groups, mixing around the batches to work together. There was this sense of satisfaction when we managed to complete the task as a patrol with the Year Ones! It was a little awkward interacting them as they were shy around us, being the first time they met us, but we tried our best to make them feel welcome and conversed with them as much possible. They, also attempted to participate actively in the games and obediently listened to every instruction given out by the seniors. We also learnt more about their primary school life during the patrol corner, and hopefully opening up to us would be easier than expected. Generally, we thought that they were very cute and I'm honestly quite happy to have them as juniors. I hope they would get used to guides customs and activities sooner, learn more skills and feel attached to our big family.

Afterwards, we all headed back to the General Science lab where we had a short debrief and breakoff! We warmly welcome our new juniors to our family of guides! Here’s wishing them all the best in their future guiding journey!

Cheers,
Michelle
47th Batch Secretary
