HI guides :D

Yesterday, we jihed at the usual place at 9am in the morning. This jihe was the same as the week before's jihe but patrols swoop to do PT and initiatives. For p4 and 5, we went around the school taking pictures for our videos. P4 had to come up with a video regarding guiding whereas P5 had to do a video regarding the school. We were given roughly an hour to go around the school compound for photo taking and to then complete our video within 2 hours in the computer lap. P3 and 6 went to East Coast Park for sand castle building. Although it rained halfway, it was a fun trip going to the beach and enjoy the sun & nature. Patrols bonded even more after this initiative.

For p1,2,7 and 8, they had foot drill training as well as Physical training which was the same as what P3 to 6 went through. After that, we jihed together for lunch and had skills training. Two patrols were grouped together and we had 4 checkpoints to complete. The first checkpoint was the tying of gadgets - kitchen dresser. Second checkpoint was attire check. It is important to ensure that we should be up to the guides standard for any guides activity and not wait for spot checks to remind us that we should be in the guides standard attire. The third checkpoint was orienteering. To the year1s, it is something new and for the year2s and 3s it was to refresh their orienteering skills. The forth checkpoint was the stretcher where patrols were taught on how to build a stretcher and how to transport a casualty. Overall, the skills training was a recap on all the various skills and the year1s learnt a lot and have a deeper understanding of guiding now. This is one of the long-day jihe, from morning till evening but everyone had more time to bond with their patrol mates or their batch.

Happy holidays :D

Love guides :D
