集合, 28th Feb

Hi Guides!

Today, the YAs held a campfire preparation session with us. From 1500 to 1530, the Year 2s taught the Year 1s their basic lashes while the Year 3s and 4s learnt about anchorage. Basically, anchorage makes a structure more stable, and this is especially important in bigger structures where tight lashes may not be enough to ensure their stability. There are many different types of anchorage, but today we learnt the 3-2-1 picket method.

At 1530, we 集合-ed back at the GSL, where we were split into 5 groups of 2 patrols each to learn about setting up a campfire pit.

From 1610, we had creative gadgeting for 1 hour. Other than following the theme of Campfire, we could build any gadgets we wanted. During that time, the YAs also called up patrols to teach them how to light the kerosene lamp. After 1 hour, we were given 5 minutes to think of how to present our gadget to the Company before we had a gallery walk for all the gadgets. It was interesting to see the different ideas that the patrols came up with :) Here are some photos!

Hope that everyone has learnt some new things today and had fun. Rest well and have a good weekend!:D
